Looking for a therapist who is personable, authentic, and collaborative? You're in the right place!

My own experiences with physical disability (I'm a person who stutters), pervasive anxiety, and shifting spirituality sent me on a journey which, every day, teaches me the healing power of being curious toward that which we feel compelled to fight, flee, hide from, suppress, or ignore.

It is one of my greatest joys in life to be able to walk alongside fellow Mainers on their own curious journeys toward growth, healing, rest, and self-discovery.

If you couldn't already tell, my approach is rooted in curiosity! I help you explore where and who you have been, you are, and you want to be. I treat therapy as a highly collaborative process led by you, and I strive to be a present, gentle, curious, kind, and appropriately humorous guide and supporter.

Whether you're experiencing the storms of life or just hoping to grow, I'm excited to be there alongside you. I work with adults as well as adolescents aged 10+. I have extensive experience in leadership, spirituality, and supporting youth in their navigation of life.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Southern Maine and am proud to remain a member of the Maine community. From Pre-K through all of Highschool, I was homeschooled; eventually attending the University of Southern Maine to get my bachelor's degree in Leadership & Organizational studies with a minor in Computer Science. — My young adulthood has been quite dynamic. It’s included: • The surfacing of and healing around an anxiety disorder (GAD). • Taking a wonderous, therapeutic journey away from self-hatred (greatly spurred on by speech disfluency/stuttering) and toward self-love and -compassion. • A profound spiritual transformation in which I’ve moved away from religious certainty to cosmic curiosity. — My personal time is filled with: • Spending time and traveling with my dear family and friends. • Studying philosophy and theology. • Playing TableTop Roleplaying Games. • Reading fantasy and sci-fi. • Paddleboarding when Maine weather allows! — I entered USM's Clinicical Mental Health Counseling program in 2022 to better serve my community and fell in love with the counseling profession. I am so grateful to be doing this work and I find great purpose in supporting people in their journey toward rest.

Insurance

I do not accept insurance yet.

I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance comapny; a responsibilty which you alone hold.

Although reimbursement is not guaranteed, it can help you acquire it.

MY APPROACH

My approach to counseling is built on a "best of both worlds" philosophy. On one hand, I am a well-trained and clinically-competent professional. I handle the essential elements of your care—such as consent, diagnosis, ethical standards, and coordination with other healthcare providers—with precision and diligence. You can rest assured that your treatment is rooted in evidence-based practice and professional integrity.

However, once we engage for a session, I tend to leave the clinical "white coat" at the door. I believe that the most profound healing happens in a space that feels warm, relatable, and human.

In the spirit of Carl Rogers’ person-centered approach, I show up as an empathetic, reflective listener and supportive conversational partner. While I bring the clinical tools and competence to help you navigate life’s challenges, I aim for our sessions and interactions to feel authentic.

We journey toward your goals together.

My integrated approach to therapy is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy and Parts Work while drawing from modalities like ACT, DBT, CBT, Existential Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and TTRPG Therapy, always prioritizing the therapeutic relationship and the building of a treatment plan unique to you.

FOCUS & BOUNDARIES

Clientele

I serve adolescents (10+) and adults from all walks and ways of life.

Due to ethical and professional boundaries, I cannot take on clients that I regularly interact with outside of the counseling relationship nor can I take on clients with whom I share a close mutual relationship (e.g. my best friend's brother, my coworker's mother, etc.)

Specialization

While I am always willing and prepared to conduct research, seek consultation, undergo trainings, and learn from your lived experience in order to better serve you, there are a few issues that I consider myself a specialist in.

My claim of specialization arises from not only having studied these issues more than other ones and having gained considerable clinical experience with them, but also having undergone my own healing journeys related to some of these issues. While I work to avoid projecting my own experiences onto yours, I do allow them to help me relate to you.

MY EDUCATION

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MAINE

MASTERS OF SCIENCE,
CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING

"Practitioners of clinical mental health counseling provide guidance for clients who are experiencing developmental life stress and acute transitional problems, as well as clients interested in enriching their present life through the establishment of greater coherence and well-being.

In USM's Clinical Mental Health concentration, students establish their professional identity through the development of facilitative and interpersonal communication skills. We emphasize a holistic approach with a focus on wellness and prevention, as well as self-care of the counselor.

The cirriculum explores the roles, functions, skills, and professional identity of clinical mental health counselors. It integrates the historical, philosophical, societal, cultural, economic, and political dimensions of the mental health and human service system. And it focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental and emotional disorders, psychological trauma, and the general principles and practices for the promotion of optimal mental health."
